Emily's Review
June 30th was the best day of my life. My friends and I got to the venue around 11:30am and we met up with Kerry from TVMB and her friend Alexis. We waited for about 3 hours, meeting George and Paulie in the mean time, and then we headed to the Verizon store meet and greet. We were so pumped when the girls pulled up and we were freaking out! When I met them they actually recognized me from the boards! I have no clue how but they did…and they remembered commenting me on myspace because I listened to their music the entire time I was having a root canal (Kate and Natasha found that to be interesting also).

After that we headed back to the venue (where we had left behind 2 people to save our spot at the front of the line). We saw Kate Voegele pull up and then like 2 minutes later The Veronicas showed up! We ran over to them and asked for pictures and talked to them a bit, Jess noticed I had the opposite of her “sold out” t-shirt (mine said “in stock”) and said that it was cute :D. They were so sweet and they talked to us until they had to go get ready.

Fast forward 2 hours…the doors open! We rush in to get up front and wait until finally the lights go down and I see George, Paulie, and Vik coming out on stage. I was expecting Kate to go first so I had to hurry and push out of the crowd to get up front and whip out my camera.

Being right up front I felt like I was the only person in the room and it was a personal concert! They kept looking right at me and Kerry because I think they noticed that we knew all the words to their songs. During “4ever” they both took turns singing ‘and I wanna spend the night with you’ directly to me while we pointed at each other. They would grab my hand, bend down to be right by me, and smile…I felt so lucky! Jess was so funny, she was actually posing for my pictures while singing!

They are so lively on stage. Always moving and everything they do is so energized! I could have watched them perform all night long and never even contemplate sleep. Their voices are so strong and intense and they sound beautiful live. It is a shame that they only got to play 8 songs because I would have gladly listened to more. Oh and Jess took her shirt off for “Hook Me Up”…isn’t she great? The set list was Untouched, Everything, Take Me On The Floor, 4ever, Popular, Mother Mother, This Is How It Feels, and Hook Me Up.

After they left the stage Alexis, Kerry, and I rushed out to the lobby to buy merch and see the girls. When it was my turn to meet them they said how cool it was to have me right there at the front and they said they would be taking pictures outside right after the signing. So we headed out and waited, meeting Vik in the process. My friend Sydney had gotten hurt right before the girls came on stage so her and her boyfriend came out to leave but I walked her over to where we were waiting and told her The Veronicas would make her feel better. We noticed a girl with a camera and she asked us to give a shout out to The Veronicas for a possible tour DVD so we jumped on it. Right as we were finishing Jess leaps in front of the camera and we were so surprised…it was way funny! We told them about how it was Sydney’s birthday and her injury and they were so sweet and funny about it (Kerry has a video of this all on TVMB). We talked for a while about a lot of things…most of which I was too excited to remember…then we got pictures and hung around until they had to go. They gave us hugs…coming over to Sydney for hers so she didn’t have to walk…and then they got on the bus.

I waited 3 years to see them perform live and it was well worth the wait!
